I'm feeling the pressure today... in a good way;) I guess I'll get to the point. I might follow suit and trade in my other car for another 350Z... I really like the car, but need to think about practicality.  Having two vehicles with hardly and truck space and only 2 seats is limiting.  Although, it's really fun;)  I wouldn't increase my debt much and it should allow enough room for the new house purchase (but it's still would increase my DTI (Debt To Income ratio), I think...  but did I say it would be fun?  I'd have to pay for registration and my insurance would increase slightly... but did I say it would be fun?  Oh well... I suppose I should be responsible and remain content with what I currently drive:)  but we'll see;)

On a side note, ever hear that women use 3-5 times as many words as men to express something?  I wonder if anyone out there has profiled blogs to determine if that's true on the web? lol, oh well, good thing I have something to do with my time instead of that...

I thought I'd have trouble updating this regularly:)

At any rate, lotsa things going on... Getting Married in May, in Hawaii:D I'm very happy and that's all that matters...

Also, got a new vehicle to add to the mix... A Nissan 350Z Track... It's faaaast. Needless to say, I'm buying a radar detector very soon. Also have to note, I got a lower interest rate on the new car than the rate I had with the trade-in. Also didn't have to put any cash down, so it was a win win situation. I've got to carefully manage my credit to get to the next step... a house...

Planning on a new home sometime this summer... Maybe out by Green Mountain or close to work... Although the mountains have some appeal.

Working my ass off as usual... We pushed our website to production on the Internet about 2 weeks ago, only to have marketing finally give us some graphics and a new UI... Wrapping up that integration this week while juggling four other projects somehow. I can say though, I enjoy my job irregardless. I don't pin my emotions to my work. I find satisfaction in the accomplishments.

So... Life is good...

For no apparent reason, today rocks!  Went home for a brief lunch, found out that my traffic ticket has to be mailed in by tomorrow or else I lose the "early payment" reduction in points (It was a 4 pt. ticket, but will be reduced to 2 pts. if I follow through, although it should have been a 6 pt. ticket, but the cop was very cool).  Anyway, I've been working all day long and getting quite a bit accomplished, but not enough to catch up, grrr... I will probably work through as much of the weekend as I can while making time for [info]rabiderpixie's party.  We're having girls over this weekend, as always:D Looking forward to this weekend, needless to say...</span>

[info]deviant1 for the tix to the comedy club... I needed the laughs:) Thank you!  Ran into an old coworker at the show... It was really good to see that he was doing well...

Anyway, back to work... got much to do...

Alright folks, listen up... you need, no, you must run this program *pendulum swinging in front of your eyes*...

Predictor@Home via BOINC

It predicts protein structures from protein sequences:) It will run on your SPARE CPU cycles. If you are running something like NT/2000/XP or some UNIX flavor, please contribute. We have a team you can join, hint, hint...

The Movement of Fear's Team @ Predictor

If you have ANY questions, please post them here... I will help you get this running on your 'puter(s)... If you have any servers, you can run BOINC as a service:)

SETI@Home uses BOINC now as well, feel free to join that project as well. Currently I'm only running predictor, as I see it has a greater, immediate potential than SETI@Home (plus there aren't as many users, yet)... However, MOF has a SETI@Home team as well... Holler if you want the link to that team posted here as well...

This weekend was weird... I was soooo tired all weekend long, I barely got anything done. Oh well, at least I'm up early and feeling good this morning. Hanging out with everyone at the house was good... Normally the kids are reinvigorating, but I guess I was too tired. This week will be productive and pleasant... I insist... lol... I was supposed to help a friend pack, go to a b-day party and go to Ren Fest with some other friends... None of these happened... Needless to say, this weekend won't be repeating itself... I wasn't depressed or anything, just fuckin' tired and out of it... Anyway, enough bitching...

I need to start my piano lessons or grep the Internet for some sheet music to fuck around with. I originally learned to play by ear, but that only gets me so far. I'm needing to brush up on my reading and executing. My honeymoon period with my workstation is nearly over and I've learned a tremendous amount about it, but there is still more (evil grin)... For those of you that care, it's a Roland Fantom-s workstation. I've got it hooked up to a dedicated PC for recording via Digital Coax and, of course, MIDI. I'm pleased with most of the features, but kinda wish it had a Digital Coax input instead of just the output. The new Fantom-X series has this, but I wasn't willing to spend twice as much just for a few features. The Fantom-s uses SmartMedia cards (which completely blow!!) while the Fantom-X boards use PCMCIA/PCCards. The difference is that with the PCCard slot you can use any kind of "portable" media, like compact flash cards (which are the way to go or SD cards)... Anyway, I could go on for hours about these little things.

Anyway, my roomie is starting his new job this morning:) His first real venture into this biz. I'm excited and happy for him. It's good work, probably mundane at times, but I'm hoping he'll have the initiative to figure out small ways to automate his workload. Doing that would surely grant him a permanent position with his company:) And I'll ask him about what he's doing in detail so I can help him with figuring out the automation aspects... hint, hint...

Got a speeding ticket, yes another, a while ago... Need to mail it in today so I can get the automatic plea bargain... Suck! The cop was cool about it. I noticed he wrote in the original speed and then wrote over it a slower speed. One that would allow me to have the automatic plea bargain as a 2 point defective vehicle charge. Who said cops can't be cool? Maybe it was because I played ignorant, or because I spotted him and pulled right over... He didn't even have to get on his bike to chase me. Anyway, I'm slowing down on the roads, well trying to...

So, anyone have anything exciting to share about this weekend???

Well I've got a long night ahead of me again... While some nameless person was using my main workstation, it crashed and isn't really recoverable. I spent last night attempting to fix it. Good thing I partition my data seperately from my OS and such... Anyway, it wasn't their fault:) I think is was related to the heat, but I'll know for sure after reinstalling the OS tonight, blagh.

For those of you who care about their data, BACK IT UP! or at the least, use different drives or partitions for data and your apps/operating system. If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about, ask me to help you sometime...

"This is the problem with LJ, we all think we are so close, and we know nothing about each other. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about."

Thx RabiderPixie... Not that I know who's who on LJ yet... so it's posted;)

Went to Sushi Den last night and had my fill of the best Sushi in Denver! We were celebrating Rafi's b-day:) I think my favorite piece of the night was the Salmon/Caviar hand roll... well, maybe the Ikura (Salmon Roe)... Hell, it was all awesome... Thx to Gwen for halving the bill:D Too bad she didn't have any sushi:( Someday maybe her taste buds will change and she'll be able to enjoy it;0 Anyway, it's the start of a new work week and I have a ton to do. I feel a little bit behind on my projects, but that's what can happen in software, eek... So needless to say, this week will be extremely productive so I can catch up! Or at least it better be damn close. Oh, just got a call from Rafi that he accepted the offer from Sharper Agent as a web developer!!! I'm very happy about that and can only imagine how happy he is. It's taken a few years of work for him to build up to this level and now it's paying off... lotsa, lotsa hard work...

Also, I need to thank Jon & Chelsea, Jeff and Cuyler & Carol for the wonderful house warming gifts!!! THEY ROCK! I need to find or make some thank you cards... note to self...

And of course, RabiderPixie for all her wonderful help and everything else... :)

Well, the party went extremely well! We got everything arranged and setup before everyone got there, thankfully. Of course, going to bed at 5am isn't good, but oh well... I can recover today for work on Monday. To put the icing on the cake for the weekend, we are going to have sushi tonight @ Sushi Den!!! My absolute favorite sushi restaurant. So it's a really good day:)

Thanks Advil!

and THANK YOU EVERYONE! had a blast!

Well, after much harassment and prodding, I'm finally starting a live journal... I'm very bad at updating things like this... Anyway, we are having a house-warming / Birthday (Rafi's) party at the new apartment tonight. It should prove interesting as we have quite the mix of people showing up:) I've got quite a bit of preparation to do considering we are still not completely unpacked, of course. Well it's time to get back to work / play...
